Our Review Process

Every CalcSutra calculator goes through a structured six-stage process before it earns a "Formula Verified" badge. Here is exactly what that looks like.

   🔍 Formula Research

   We identify the correct mathematical formula from a primary authoritative source — such as the WHO, IRS, Federal Reserve, IEEE, or equivalent academic publication. We never use proprietary or unverified formulas.

   ⚙️ Technical Implementation

   The formula is implemented in TypeScript with strict type safety. Input validation rules are defined to prevent out-of-range values from producing misleading results.

   ✓ Independent Formula Verification

   Results are cross-verified against a second independent calculation — either a published worked example from the source, a spreadsheet, or a peer-reviewed computation. Any discrepancy triggers a formula review.

4. 4

   📝 Content Review

   The surrounding educational content — formula explanation, worked example, FAQs, assumptions, limitations — is reviewed for accuracy, clarity, and practical relevance by a domain expert.

5. 5

   🚀 Publication

   The calculator is published with a review date, review status, and accuracy indicator in its metadata. A 'Formula Verified' badge is shown only for calculators that have completed this full process.

6. 6

   🔄 Scheduled Maintenance

   Calculators with time-sensitive parameters (tax rates, contribution limits, interest rate benchmarks) are scheduled for annual review. The review date is updated after each pass.
